The film picks up one year after the battle against the Terrorcons. Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) has fully traded his street smarts for global stakes, having officially graduated into the ranks of the covert military organization, G.I. Joe. He works closely with his old partner, Elena Wallace (Dominique Fishback), who is now a leading analyst in Joe’s advanced tech division.
Their uneasy alliance begins when a lone, desperate remnant of the Terrorcons discovers a massive, dormant Decepticon army—a terrifying platoon of powerful, classic Decepticons—frozen and hidden beneath the polar ice caps for centuries. When the Terrorcon manages to awaken this force, the subsequent spike in energy signatures attracts the attention of the Autobots and the Joes simultaneously.
