The Longest Yard: Overtime (2026)

Posted on December 7, 2025

Starring: Adam Sandler, Terry Crews, Nelly, Travis Kelce

The clock has run out on Paul Crewe’s second chance, but the game is far from over. The Longest Yard: Overtime drags former NFL quarterback Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler)—now a down-on-his-luck high school football coach whose main job is breaking up cafeteria fights—back into the penitentiary system, but this time, he’s not wearing the stripes.

Crewe is blackmailed by the ruthless CEO of the Goliath Private Prison Group, a corrupt, globe-spanning conglomerate that views incarceration as high-profit entertainment. The CEO forces Crewe to return to the unforgiving grounds of the penal system to train a “Super Team” of inmates for a global, illegal pay-per-view spectacle. The event is pitched as the ultimate clash: Mean Machine vs. The Guards.

Crewe reluctantly returns with his signature sarcastic grit and aging humor, though his knees are creaking louder than the prison gates. To assemble his team, he reunites with his unstoppable, business-savvy former teammate, Cheeseburger Eddy (Terry Crews), now a successful prison food vendor with a massive black market network, and the lightning-fast defensive back, Earl Megget (Nelly), who is managing the prison’s surprisingly advanced library system.

Together, they must assemble a new generation of the “Mean Machine.” Their greatest recruit is “The Gridiron God” (Travis Kelce), a disgraced, hot-headed current NFL superstar whose public outburst landed him in the lockup. Crewe needs to teach this arrogant athlete a much-needed lesson in humility and teamwork before the game starts.

The opponents? A squad of prison guards—handpicked from across the Goliath system—who are juiced up on undisclosed steroids, armed with unauthorized riot gear, and led by a captain who has a personal vendetta against Crewe.

The main event, dubbed “The Deathbowl,” is held in a modified, dilapidated prison yard. This isn’t just football—it’s gladiator combat. The field is rigged with non-regulation obstacles, there are no rules, no referees, and there is a literal, deactivated minefield running across the 50-yard line, turning every punt return into a life-or-death gamble.

The hits are harder, the plays are dirtier, and the Mean Machine is ready to prove that while athletic form is temporary, pure class (and a highly illegal clothesline tackle) is permanent. This time, the stakes are not just a pardon, but stopping a massive criminal enterprise and ensuring their lives don’t end on the fifty-yard line.
