The Texas Rangers opened their three-game set against the Oakland A’s on Friday night at Globe Life Field. Nathan Eovaldi took the ball for Texas, facing right-hander Luis Severino for the A’s in a 7:05 p.m. Central start. The Rangers entered the game as -140 favorites.
Fans got another look at promising young outfielder Alejandro Osuna in the lineup, a welcome sight for those who have been following his progress this season.

Carter’s presence in center added speed and defense, and the veteran presence of Pederson and Higashioka provided solid experience.
This series promised plenty of exciting baseball as the Rangers looked to start strong at home. Eovaldi’s experience on the mound gave Texas a reliable edge against a tough A’s lineup.
