Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Introduces New Holiday: All-Worlds Day

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy introduced a new holiday to the Star Trek canon’s growing list. Written by Alex Taub and Eric Anthony Glover, and directed by Andi Armaganian, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode 7 pairs off the cadets for an hour of character development and revelations.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode 7 kicks off spring semester. It’s a desperately needed time for Starfleet Academy’s cadets and professors to cope with the fallout of the tragic events on the USS Miyazaki in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode 6, which took place a month before.

As Jay-Den Kraag (Karim Diané) joins Darem Reymi (George Hawkins) in the Khionian Realm, Caleb Mir (Sandro Rosta) and Genesis Lythe (Bella Shepard) have the run of an empty Starfleet Academy, which has cleared out for a four-day holiday that’s new to the Star Trek universe.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode 7 introduced All-Worlds Day, which coincides with the start of spring semester. Starfleet Academy and the War College emptied out and sent their cadets and professors home (or to other destinations) for a four-day holiday.

All-Worlds Day is mainly an occasion for “eating.”

According to Genesis Lythe, All-Worlds Day is mainly an occasion for “eating.” It’s not known when the United Federation of Planets began celebrating All-Worlds Day, but, as the name denotes, the holiday is celebrated on every planet that’s part of the Federation in the 32nd century.

Even Captain Nahla Ake (Holly Hunter) took a break for All-Worlds Day, and Nahla was understandably upset when she had to cut her vacation short after Commander Jett Reno (Tig Notaro) caught Genesis and Caleb Mir breaking into the USS Athena’s bridge.

All-Worlds Day in 3195 coincided with a meteor shower on the final day of the four-day break when Starfleet Academy’s cadets returned to San Francisco. The remaining episodes of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1 will depict the spring sementer leading to the end of the academic year.

Star Trek loves to come up with reasons for celebrations in-universe and for fans to also pay tribute to their favorite sci-fi franchise in real life. First Contact Day is perhaps the most famous Star Trek fictional holiday, which celebrates the moment humans met Vulcans in 2163, as seen in Star Trek: First Contact.

Captain Picard Day was a way for children to honor Captain Jean-Luc Picard on the USS Enterprise-D in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Captain Picard Day became a real-life occasion to celebrate Jean-Luc and Star Trek, which now takes place on June 16.

Star Trek Day is another real-world holiday that takes place annually on September 8 to commemorate the 1966 premiere of Star Trek: The Original Series on NBC. Paramount+ uses Star Trek Day for corporate marketing, often announcing media partnerships and new projects for the upcoming year.

Star Trek: Picard season 3 introduced Frontier Day, an all-hands-on-deck Starfleet holiday that commemorates the launch of Captain Jonathan Archer’s (Scott Bakula) NX-01 Enterprise in 2151. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 celebrated Federation Day, which marks the founding of the United Federation of Planets in 2161.

With All-Worlds Day, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy becomes the latest Star Trek on Paramount+ series to introduce a new holiday, following in Star Trek: Picard‘s footsteps with Frontier Day, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ Federation Day.

In a shocking twist that left fans stunned, the complicated relationship between Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek takes another dramatic turn — this time with unexpected pregnancy news that changes everything.

It all begins after an emotional and intimate moment between the two. What seemed like a fleeting connection quickly turns into something far more serious when Burgess discovers she’s pregnant — and Ruzek is the father.

The news hits hard. Not just for Ruzek, but for Burgess herself, who finds herself completely overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.

With a dangerous job, an unstable life, and a relationship still full of unresolved tension, Burgess is forced to face the hardest question of her life:

Should she keep the baby… or let it go?

At first, she hesitates. The timing feels wrong, the risks feel too high. Ruzek, equally shaken, struggles to process it all — but makes one thing clear: he will stand by her, no matter what she decides.

The pressure builds as both of them realize that this isn’t just about love anymore — it’s about responsibility, fear, and the unknown future ahead.

After a deeply emotional case, Burgess begins to see things differently. The idea of becoming a mother slowly starts to feel right. Against all odds, she decides to keep the baby.

For a brief moment, it seems like hope has returned.

But then… everything falls apart.

During a dangerous mission, Burgess is brutally attacked. The consequences are devastating — she loses the baby before it ever has a chance to be born.

The loss shatters both of them.

In an instant, hope turns into heartbreak, leaving fans completely devastated by one of the most emotional storylines in the series.

The tragedy doesn’t just take the baby — it leaves a deep emotional scar between them. Burgess shuts down, drowning in grief, while Ruzek is left feeling helpless and broken.

And yet, somehow, this shared pain begins to pull them back toward each other.
