WASHINGTON D.C. — The new leadership at the FBI is pulling back the curtain on years of alleged corruption, revealing that former Director James Comey “concealed” investigations into Hillary Clinton and hid sensitive documents in bags to keep them from being discovered.
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino dropped these bombshells in a series of interviews this week, painting a picture of a bureau that had been weaponized to protect political elites while targeting their opponents.
“Hidden in Bags”
In a stunning revelation on Fox & Friends, Deputy Director Bongino disclosed that the new administration has discovered a trove of evidence from the Comey era that had been kept off the books.
“I wouldn’t call it hidden, but hidden from us at least and not mentioned to us,” Bongino said. “And then we found stuff in there and a lot of it’s from the Comey-era… We found it in bags hiding under Jim Comey’s FBI, and you’re going to be stunned.”
Bongino explained that these documents were not processed through normal procedures, never digitized, and never logged into official FBI records. The bureau is now “working our damndest” to declassify the materials, though the process involves coordination with other intelligence agencies.
Patel: Comey “Usurped” Authority
Director Patel, appearing alongside Bongino on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, laid out the case against his predecessor’s handling of the 2016 Hillary Clinton email scandal.
“The FBI concealed investigations for then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton,” Patel declared. He argued that the previous FBI leadership “usurped the constitutional responsibilities held by the Department of Justice,” with Comey deciding “on his own” not to prosecute Clinton despite evidence that she compromised national security.
“If you don’t believe me, look at the video record,” Patel said, noting that Comey “intentionally omitted investigation information or distorted prosecution decisions during his tenure.”
Patel also blasted the “Trump-Russia collusion” probe as a fabrication, stating that Comey “maliciously and brutally distorted the procedures of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and lied to the American people.”
The “8647” Threat
The tension between the new FBI leadership and the old guard reached a boiling point earlier this month when James Comey posted a cryptic image to Instagram.
The photo showed seashells arranged to spell “86 47,” accompanied by the caption, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”
“86”: Restaurant jargon meaning to remove, reject, eliminate, or kill.
“47”: A reference to Donald Trump, the 47th President.
Administration officials viewed the post as a veiled threat. Patel referenced the incident, criticizing the fired director’s conduct as the current FBI works to “rebuild trust among Americans” after years of what they describe as political weaponization.
