MISSING: DAKOTA WILSON, 17-YEAR-OLD FROM JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI—HELP BRING HER HOME 5862

On the night of March 24, 2026, the Jackson Police Department’s Precinct 3 responded to an urgent situation at The Goodness Project, a group home in Jackson, Mississippi. Staff had reported that three juveniles were missing after walking out the back door and disappearing down a wooded path. The search was immediately launched for Dakota Wilson, a 17-year-old girl who remains unaccounted for, four days after her disappearance.

The Goodness Project, which is part of Mississippi’s youth residential care system, serves young people who are already facing significant challenges in life. When one of these youths goes missing, it adds an extra layer of urgency, as their safety and well-being are at the forefront of the community’s concern. Dakota’s case has now become a priority for the Jackson community and beyond.

Dakota, who is now 17, was last seen leaving the group home with two other juveniles. The staff saw her walk out the back door, but by the time they realized she was missing, she had already made her way down the path into the woods behind the facility. Child Protective Services was immediately notified, and all three missing juveniles were entered into the NCIC database for further investigation.

While the other two individuals have since been located, Dakota is still missing. Four days without answers is far too long for a young girl to be unaccounted for. Her family, along with authorities, are desperate to find her and bring her home safely.
