What they thought would be a routine visit quickly turned into something far more serious. Milo was diagnosed with both respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and secondary bacterial pneumonia, leading to his transfer to the emergency department.

Milo’s oxygen levels were dangerously low, and his high respiratory rate made it difficult for him to breathe. He moved from BiPAP (a machine that helps with breathing) to a high-flow nasal cannula, then to low-flow oxygen, and finally, after several days, he was able to breathe on his own. Milo’s progress was swift, and after four days of intensive care, he was ready to go home.
When Milo was discharged from the PICU, it wasn’t just a medical victory; it was an emotional reunion. He was finally reunited with his twin sister and two older brothers, and after such a long ordeal, Milo enjoyed a much-needed nine-hour sleep. For his family, the experience was filled with both anxiety and relief, but most importantly, it left them deeply grateful for the exceptional care they received.
