Well, plenty more to go out again this evening, isn’t there? If Starmmer cared about Britain, he’d resign. We are witnessing the slow political death of Karma. Today, the first Labour MP went over the top and called for him to go completely fed up to the back teeth of this psycho drama in Westminster. The own goals that are coming from the heart of this government.
They just need to get a grip. I’m completely fed up about it. And I and I think it’s it’s got to the point now where I genuinely think that, you know, as far as the prime minister is concerned, it’s not a case of if, it’s when. And I just think we need to get a handle on this. >> So that was a backbench MP. But now tonight, the cabinet are giving up on him.

If I’m watching you, I’m not sure what else anyone needed to tell the person at the top of government about this individual that would have made it clear it wasn’t just risky, it was wrong. What What else did you need to know at that moment? >> Look, it’s a fair point. I mean, look, it’s a fair point and he shouldn’t have been appointed.
Um, and uh you know that that is right. They’re sick of it, aren’t they? They’ve had enough. They’re just ready to throw the towel in. In fact, an unnamed cabinet minister is now openly saying that they have now lost confidence in K Star and expect the cabinet to move against him. That is the breaking news as of a couple of hours ago this evening.
A Labour peer has called for him to resign as well. He’s lost the civil service. The prime minister was asked by the member for New Forest East before sacking Oliver Robbins last week. Did the prime minister ask him why he overruled the verdict of security veters? And if so, what was his explanation? The prime minister replied, I did ask him and I did not accept his explanation. That is why I sacked him.
Did the prime minister ask you and what about your explanation do you think he did not agree with? It’s a very legitimate question, Miss Bransworth. The reason I wrote to the committee ahead of this hearing on this matter is I’m afraid given I’m in unknown territory honestly for me personally about the the HR position I am in and what this means for uh my family, I must I must remain quiet on that until um my advisers have told me what the appropriate thing to do is about it.

And now is former chief of staff Morgan Mcweeny has been summoned to give evidence at the Foreign Office Commission about Peter Mandlesson’s vetting next week. I wonder if he’s brought his phone with him. So this crisis will roll on into next week. The whole weekend press is going to be building up to it.
Mweeny takes the stand on Tuesday and then of course there’ll be all the fallout from it at PMQ’s next Wednesday. Oh no, there won’t be because it looks like Kier Starmer is going to progue Parliament. This means Parliament won’t be sitting. He says it’s because of the local elections, but it’s very very early to be doing this and it looks a lot like he’s running scared.
And once again, Starmmer’s words have come back to haunt him. I think to everybody that not only was shutting down parliament at this crucial time the obviously wrong thing to do. We should be sitting each and every day to resolve this crisis, but that the prime minister was not telling the truth about why he was doing it.
And this is really important. >> Yes, it is really important, Prime Minister. It’s really, really important. Shutting down Parliament, running away. Meanwhile, nothing’s getting done, is it? Are we sorting out welfare? The economy is stagnant. Inflation is up. Unemployment is up. Illegal immigration up. People’s bills, your bills up.
And nothing is being done because Star is a lame duck. His backbenches won’t back him. And all his cabinet ministers are thinking about is how they can take his job. Everybody thinks that prime ministers tend to go over they remember the scandal whether it’s about a piece of cake or something else but it’s actually when your own ministers turn on you that you are flushed it is over and this administration is now definitely in its dying hours or dying days even if it limps on for another couple of weeks as you rightly said Patrick nothing will get done this is chewing up the entire bandwidth of the prime minister and government so don’t
expect any response to any emerging story or any imaginative policies to be rolled out or anything to be done to tackle inflation going up. All of that just put it to one side. They are just going to firefight until the fire consumes them. And I think the fire is now licking at their feet and it will be at their torso before long.
>> Yeah. I do think if he if he cared about the country, actually cared about it, he would have to recognize that nothing is being done here now. a whole mechanism of government from the people he hasn’t sacked is designed entirely around trying to keep him politically alive day to day. Nothing.

But if the progation takes place, push it past that. I can’t see any minister actually wanting uh the chaos to take place now. That being said, they know they’re going to get hammered on May the 7th. They know that and so therefore maybe if they can deal with it then blame everything on what happens on May the 7th then move on and say new new broom, new king speech, new all the rest of it.
It was all about Mandy. Everything went wrong because of the Mandlesson. It’s been months it’s been Mandlesson here and there. I I do think Kem got it wrong today. I think she should have gone more personal. I think she should have made made the people sitting next to him made those backbenches behind him really show that they don’t actually support him. We we’ll talk about that a bit later on. But yeah, Nina, this this the first Labour MP today came out just said, “Look, he’s got to go.
” Then the noises are that there’s a at least two members of the cabinet who are about to say that, right? So this is this is it now. The scandal’s going to rumble onto next week. Morgan Mcweeny on Tuesday gets to give his evidence. So this is definitely on top of the news agenda for at least another well for at least another week.

I think when you look at the the the kind of ensemble of crises that we have as a country, yes, >> we need someone who’s capable of taking serious action and at the moment he he only seems capable of of basically trying to trying to cover up for lies he may have told. >> Yes.
I mean that I mean it’s not unusual for a prime minister to be stubborn and it’s not unusual for the end game to play out in this fashion. Um uh and the more that you’re in the bunker and surrounded just by two or three of your loyalists, you don’t necessarily you become even unaware of how absolutely counter catastrophic the situation is outside of the bunker.
Uh but I think those who venture out of the bunker, you showed two cabinet ministers earlier, Ed Milliband and Pat McFaden are wholly aware of how bad it is and are no longer willing to defend the prime minister on national television. I mean if he if he won’t resign, how did they get rid of him? >> Exactly. just like that.
I mean, you you ultimately resign. If if what brought Boris down was was that dozens of ministers said, “I’m just not willing to serve under you.” And at some point, you bow to the reality. Now, I agree, he is living in La La Land and has absolutely no appreciation of how utterly catastrophic uh his reputational position and his political position is.
But at some point you’re awoken from that by your closest colleague saying it depends on the war. >> Well, it depends on his cabinet. No, it depends on the cabinet down to the war.
