WASHINGTON D.C. — In a bold move to cut off the financial head of the snake, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) has formally requested the Department of Justice launch a “comprehensive and immediate” investigation into the vast network of organizations funded by billionaire George Soros.
“Material Support for Violence”
In a letter sent Thursday to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Carter cited credible reports that Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) may be bankrolling groups that engage in domestic terrorism.
“There is growing concern… that George Soros’ Open Society Foundations have played a significant role in funding organizations associated with promoting political extremism,” Carter wrote. He urged the DOJ to determine if these groups are violating federal laws related to “material support for violence” targeting Americans based on their political beliefs.
The $80 Million Trail
Carter’s demand is backed by a bombshell report from the Capital Research Center (CRC). The report alleges that OSF directed more than $80 million to organizations whose activities meet the FBI’s definition of domestic terrorism.
Key findings from the report include:
Center for Third World Organizing (CTWO): Received $400,000 and publicly bragged about “throwing down with people in the streets” during the 2020 riots.
The Ruckus Society: Linked to CTWO, this group’s training materials reportedly endorse illegal tactics like property destruction.
BlackOUT Collective: Co-authored a pro-Hamas guide glorifying the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel.
Dream Defenders & Movement for Black Lives: Received a combined $19.85 million.
Sunrise Movement: Received $2 million and is linked to the “Stop Cop City” coalition, which federal officials associate with Antifa anarchist activity.
“Money Never Lies”
The call for an investigation comes amid a terrifying escalation in political violence, including attacks on ICE facilities and the tragic Sept. 10 assassination of Charlie Kirk.
While the Open Society Foundations dismissed the allegations as “politically motivated attacks,” the federal government is already moving. FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Wednesday an “unprecedented financial investigation” into the funding sources of Antifa and other militant groups.
“We are following the money. Money never lies,” Patel declared alongside Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “That’s what it’s going to take to bring down this network of organized criminal thugs… and yes, domestic terrorists.”
With the DOJ now facing pressure from Congress to specifically target the Soros network, the days of dark money fueling street violence may be numbered.
