FOUR DENVER BRONCOS ROOKIES POISED FOR INSTANT IMPACT – BATTLE FOR SNAPS ERUPTS IN ENGLEWOOD!

Posted on May 5, 2026

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos’ shiny new rookies are walking into a brutal numbers war at this week’s rookie minicamp, and the pressure is on like never before. After a 14-win season, the team locked down most of its core, added star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a blockbuster move, and left very few openings. Snaps are going to be bloodthirsty to earn.

“Sure, we’d love someone to step in and start immediately, but that’s not always how it works,” Broncos GM George Paton admitted. “Our roster is stacked now – it’s going to be a dogfight from Day 1.”

But don’t count these young guns out. With massive holes left by departed stars like defensive tackle John Franklin-Myers and linebacker Dre Greenlaw, plus opportunities at tight end and running back, four specific rookies are primed to steal the spotlight and create total drama this offseason.

Here’s the explosive quartet that could shake up the Broncos’ lineup right away:

DT Tyler Onyedim (Third Round) The 6-foot-4, 292-pound beast from Iowa State (who transferred to Texas A&M) was Denver’s first pick – and he’s built exactly like the disruptive force the team lost. Onyedim brings that explosive get-upfield style that made Franklin-Myers a nightmare.

“He was in a different scheme before, but at A&M he showed the penetration and pass-rush juice we need,” Paton said. The tape doesn’t lie – this guy could crash the starting lineup fast if he beats out former teammate Eyioma Uwazurike.

LB Red Murdock (Seventh Round – Mr. Irrelevant!) Talk about a Cinderella story in the making. Picked dead last at 257 overall, Murdock is suddenly a major player in the linebacker room after Greenlaw’s exit. With veterans Alex Singleton (32) and Justin Strnad (29) holding spots, plus Jonah Elliss shifting inside, the ultra-productive Buffalo star (298 tackles and an FBS-record 17 forced fumbles) has a real shot to crash the party immediately.

RB Jonah Coleman (Fourth Round) This physical wrecking ball was one of the draft’s most violent runners – 71% of his yards came after brutal contact, and he turned 35% of carries into first downs or scores. After J.K. Dobbins went down last year, the Broncos desperately needed this kind of punishing back who also protects the passer and catches out of the backfield.

“His style reminds me of Dobbins – physical, third-down ready, and he blocks like a beast,” coach Sean Payton raved. Coleman could flip the running game overnight.

TE Justin Joly (Fifth Round) Joly hauled in 92 catches and 11 touchdowns in his final two college seasons at NC State. He’s NFL-ready as a pass-catcher but needs blocking polish. With Denver’s tight ends producing just three touchdowns total last year and no one topping 9.8 yards per catch, Joly has a golden chance to step up and make noise early.

“I’m confident I can do both – and the Broncos picked me for a reason,” Joly said boldly.

The stakes are sky-high at rookie minicamp. These four could force their way into the rotation and turn heads – or get buried on a loaded roster. One thing’s for sure: the competition is going to be fierce, and Broncos fans are in for some serious fireworks.
