Cowboys' Future OC Arrested Right After Michigan Firing: Massive Shock for the NFL

Ann Arbor, Michigan – December 14, 2025 – A shocking story rocking American football: The coach rumored to be the future Offensive Coordinator (OC) for the Dallas Cowboys was arrested in an emergency just hours after being fired by the University of Michigan! With experience leading a strong offense at the Michigan Wolverines, he was considered a top candidate to join the Cowboys next season, helping the NFC East team restructure their offensive strategy. But unexpectedly, everything collapsed in the blink of an eye with serious charges involving home invasion and suicide threats.

Rumors of him joining the Cowboys as OC had been circulating since the start of the 2025 season, as the Cowboys were seeking a new offensive strategist to support QB Dak Prescott and maximize their passing game. With an impressive record at Michigan – leading the team to a national championship in 2023 (even as interim) and stable seasons afterward – he was seen as the “unsung hero” who could bring the Cowboys back to Super Bowl contention. Internal sources indicated that the Cowboys had made preliminary contact with him, promising a key position to build an explosive playstyle, combining run pass options that he had successfully implemented at Michigan.

But then, amid the wave of hope, the name Sherrone Moore suddenly became the center of a scandal. Moore, 39 years old, was fired by the University of Michigan on December 10, 2025, due to an “inappropriate relationship” with a team employee – a romance that lasted many years, according to the prosecutor. Athletic Director Warde Manuel confirmed: “Credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with an employee.” Just a few hours later, Moore was accused of “bursting into” the victim’s home – the woman who had broken up with him that Monday morning – wielding a butter knife and kitchen scissors, threatening suicide by holding the knife to his own throat. According to dispatch audio from the Detroit News, Moore also told the victim: “My blood will be on your hands” and “You’ve ruined my life.” Moore’s wife called 911, concerned that he “had suicidal intentions” after losing his job, and accused him of “stalking” the victim for months.

Police quickly arrested Moore on charges of home invasion and stalking. At the court hearing on December 12, 2025, at Washtenaw County District Court, he appeared via video, was released on a $25,000 bond with strict conditions: regular mental health treatment, wearing a GPS tracking device, no contact with the victim, and remaining in Michigan. The next court date is scheduled for January 22, 2026. Moore underwent a mental health evaluation immediately after his arrest, highlighting the personal crisis behind the scandal.

This incident not only ends the dream of becoming OC for the Cowboys but also stirs up the football world. The Cowboys, currently one of the top teams in the NFC with a strong record, may have to look for another candidate to bolster their offense – where Dak Prescott needs stronger support. Michigan Wolverines fans are in shock, as Moore was once a symbol of recovery after the 2023 sign stealing penalty. Will this scandal end the career of a talented coach? Or will the Cowboys still take a risk on him? The story is still heating up, and we’ll update more!

The atmosphere inside the Dallas Cowboys facility has turned tense and uneasy after multiple key players failed to show up for a recent practice, just days before a critical Week 16 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The sudden absences immediately raised alarm bells, putting head coach Brian Schottenheimer under intense pressure as he admitted he does not yet have clear answers about what went wrong.

Speaking to reporters, Schottenheimer appeared visibly stressed when questioned about the unexpected practice absences.

“This is not something you want to deal with at this point in the season,” Schottenheimer said.
“We are still gathering information and trying to understand the situation with each player.”

According to team sources, some players were absent due to health related issues, while others were missing without immediate clarification, adding to the growing sense of uncertainty surrounding the Cowboys.

The Week 16 clash with the Chargers carries major postseason implications, and losing key contributors during practice has disrupted preparation at the worst possible moment.

Behind the scenes, the coaching staff reportedly had to adjust practice plans on short notice, scrambling to account for the missing players while preparing backup options in case the situation worsens.

The sudden no shows have fueled speculation about internal instability and accountability within the team. Combined with recent disappointing performances, the situation has placed Brian Schottenheimer firmly in the spotlight.

An internal source suggested that the organization is closely monitoring how this situation unfolds, as leadership and discipline questions continue to surface at a critical stage of the season.

“We have to stay focused and keep working,” Schottenheimer added.
“There is no room for panic right now, but every decision matters.”

With kickoff approaching, the Cowboys face more questions than answers. Will the absent players return in time? Or will Dallas be forced to enter Week 16 short handed and underprepared?

One thing is clear. The pressure on Brian Schottenheimer has never been higher, and how the Cowboys respond against the Chargers could have lasting consequences well beyond a single game.
