Fashion entrepreneur Adam Frisby’s push to change UK surrogacy laws is set to be debated in Parliament following his heartfelt appearance on This Morning.

The couple who are fighting to legally become the parents of their surrogate baby | This Morning
Appearing on This Morning, Adam, best known for co-founding the clothing brand Reasn, told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about their journey. The couple worked with an American surrogate named Krista, who carried their daughter using a donor egg and their own sperm. Their baby Leven was born in the US, where laws provide stronger legal protections for intended parents.
Although Leven arrived in January, Adam, 39, and Jamie, 37, now face a lengthy court process to be legally recognized as her parents. Under UK law, the surrogate is still listed as the legal mother despite having no biological connection.

The couple explained on the show why they chose the United States: “The laws there favor both the surrogate and the intended parents, meaning the surrogate can’t change her mind after birth, and neither can we.”
Jamie added that UK rules allow more uncertainty, with the surrogate retaining rights until a parental order is granted. The pair highlighted how this leaves their daughter in a difficult legal position at the moment.
They launched a petition calling for surrogacy law reform in the UK, which quickly gathered over 90,000 signatures in just 36 hours and now stands at more than 101,000. This strong support has helped move the issue toward a parliamentary debate.
Speaking afterward on social media, Adam thanked the This Morning team: “Huge thank you to This Morning, Cat Deeley & Ben Shephard for being so lovely and giving us the space to share our story… Our inbox is flooded with love and we appreciate it more than you’ll ever know!!”
The couple continues to focus on building their family while advocating for clearer, fairer laws that better support parents and children in similar situations.
