According to reports, the 67-year-old Sheets was discovered at his Lake Havasu City property on Wednesday. Authorities indicated that the death appeared to stem from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though questions continue to swirl around the circumstances.
Notably, Sheets had been captured smiling and in high spirits just hours earlier at his Lake Havasu antique shop, which he launched following his departure from “Storage Wars.” Eyewitnesses described him as upbeat and full of life during those final photos.

Adding to the intrigue, fellow “Storage Wars” cast member Rene Nezhoda highlighted ongoing issues with a cyberstalker who had been relentlessly tormenting Sheets. Nezhoda shared on social media that Sheets had been vocal about the cyberbullying, urging investigators to thoroughly examine that angle rather than overlooking it.
Lake Havasu police have confirmed that the cyberbullying claims are part of their active investigation into the death.
Sheets built his reputation across 163 episodes of “Storage Wars,” where he and other treasure hunters bid on abandoned storage units in search of hidden gems. His bold, risk-taking approach to high-stakes lockers earned him the “Gambler” nickname that fans loved.
He is survived by his two children, including son Brandon, who joined him on several episodes of the show.
