Vegas Sequin Meets Sacred Sanctuary
Hallelujah, she’s back! Sister Act 3: The Holy Encore brings the legendary Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) out of semi-retirement for one final, urgent mission. Decades after her time in witness protection, Deloris has built a dazzling new life as a successful, sharp-witted music producer managing major residencies in Las Vegas. She has traded her choir robes for power suits, and her sacred duty for the spotlight’s glare.

The peace shatters when she receives a frantic call from her old friends, Sister Mary Patrick (Kathy Najimy) and the now-reverend Sister Mary Robert (Wendy Makkena). The venerable St. Katherine’s Convent is facing a modern crisis: dwindling funds, aging facilities, and a desperate mandate from the Archdiocese to either modernize or merge.
Soul vs. Stream
The proposed solution? A merger with the incredibly popular, but culturally controversial, “Holy Noise” choir. This choir is led by Rhea (Keke Palmer), a brilliant but rebellious young visionary and music school dropout who has turned gospel into a global, social-media-obsessed phenomenon. Rhea cares more about viral views, synchronized dance breaks, and brand deals than she does about soulful, traditional values, leading to a massive cultural clash with the existing order.

With the legacy and spirit of the late, great Mother Superior hanging in the balance, Deloris must trade her Vegas sequins for the wimple one last time. Her task is to bridge the seemingly impossible gap between old-school Motown soul and new-school pop—teaching the new generation the power of heart and harmony, while allowing the sisters to embrace necessary change.

The Vocal Showdown of Biblical Proportions
The drama is amplified by the arrival of Vivianna Gold (Jennifer Hudson), a fiercely talented, Grammy-winning gospel diva and Deloris’s professional rival from their early days in the music industry. Vivianna is also vying for the lucrative Archdiocesan contract to manage the merged choir, setting the stage for a vocal showdown of biblical proportions that will rock the rafters of the old church.
Filled with joyous, high-energy musical numbers—from clever liturgical mashups to soulful new anthems—heart, and hilarity, Deloris proves that while the world changes, the power of sisterhood (and a really, really good choir) is eternal. The Holy Encore is a celebration of finding faith in friendship and music in the most unexpected places.
