one massive I think you could call it a miscarriage of justice which we’ve seen well I call it more than that I call it an absolute travesty of justice is the fact that there’s been no traction within official parliamentary circles regarding the gangs no statutory powers regarding the gangs no progress regarding the gangs just empty words, nothing from official circles.

Obviously, we know the progress that Robert Low has made. We know the report that’s going to be released uh that that Robert Low is responsible for. And I for one uh very much look forward to, you know, seeing what’s been uncovered and more importantly who is going to be held to account. Now many MPs uh say an awful lot of stuff uh either to radio programs or in parliament itself or a combination of the two.

There’s a very interesting uh clip that’s come up here that Basil the Great has published. Nars Sha rewrites history on camera about grooming gangs. She claims she’s campaigning to get every mosque in the UK to condemn them. She says Muslims stand up against this. Where is this campaign? Has anyone seen it or is it just more lies? We all remember what she did.

Let’s have a listen to this. the first time it was ever done in the history of Islam. But I know it was the first time it was ever done in the UK where we where we campaigned to get every mosque to condemn grooming to talk about it and talk about child sexual exploitation. This was before the Robinsons and the the Lennons and um Robert Lords talked about grooming.

So we stood by the victims and the community stood by the victims and what happened was it then got you had the selective outrage for victims from people like Tom Robinson and others who then and then the first there were there were campaign you know this idea about Muslims that haven’t stood up against this that is one for the birds and the bees because we have got a track record but that never makes the press we’ve got a track I remember being on TV talking about this before my political career so effect there is there there is

absolutely it is not racist to say there is a pertinent model of abuse of grooming of street grooming where the abuser is of Pakistani heritage is that is not racist to say right what is not right is to say every Pakistani is like that that’s not okay so what do you >> I would agree with her because while there is a very very large percentage of these incidents seem to be of that ilk it obviously can’t be all of them that’s I I would see I would see that >> you do when we do the drink driving campaign, we didn’t go to the churches

on a Sunday to talk to people about not drinking on a on a Saturday night and getting drink driving home. We went to the pubs and the clubs and a public health campaign to try and shift a culture and a mindset. And it’s the same. You don’t go to the right-wing press to talk about the issues. You go to work with those communities.

And where I think we failed is we’ve not talked to them communities and we’ve allowed the banging of the noise to drown out what the actual community is. >> The thing is until the supposed far right as she calls it, said anything or did anything. Nobody knew anything about what was going on.

And it seemed to be a inconvenient truth that was uh there for all to see. uh and nobody would talk about it. Uh people were complicit uh in it in the fact that perhaps they might have known something was going on and opted to not say uh and I’m talking about police. I’m talking about all sorts of people and all this has come out in the uh inquiry.

Now what I worry about is uh consistency in in the messaging. Pure consistency. Now there’s this clip here which Basil u also reposted a reminder that when Naz Sha was given the floor in parliament to talk about this, she did so purely to defend Muslims. Absolute disgrace. As a member of parliament for one of the largest constituents of Muslim and Pakistani heritage people, Muslims, I know the sheer anger and condemnation that the vast majority of them share like all Britons who against those that commit these vile actions and vile

sexual abuse. This is not only backed by recent polling by opinion that shows Muslims are deeply concerned, majority of them about grooming gangs, but by sermons in mosques, letters from leading figures, demonstrations on the streets, and so much more, often not given the media coverage that they deserve.

I am pleased to see the National Crime Agency will be involved in the future inquiry. And let me reiterate in this house that British Muslims stand on the side of victims and and support the full force of the law against all perpetrators of abuse. >> But would the home secretary agree with me that those that display selective outrage or fan the flames to blame entire communities do nothing to protect innocent victims or further the cause of victims.

The problem with that is that it’s just talk. It’s just words and they’re worried about demonizing entire uh areas of society with with with the actions of of some. It’s more I mean at the end of the day it’s it’s a massive problem. It’s it’s a gigantic issue that’s been going on for decades and it needs eradicating and more importantly those that are responsible for it need bringing to book.

They need holding to account there. There’s no two ways about this. There’s no sugar coating it there. There’s no getting around the fact. many many people out there are responsible in some way and it it needs bringing to the public light. We we need to get to the bottom of it. And Robert Low, I think, has uh gone further in a shorter space of time than anybody else I I care to think about because if you left it to this lot, we’d still be talking about it in 30 years. And it’s still going on.

It’s still going on. So you you can see the contrast there with uh a radio uh interview and then what’s actually said by the same person within the parliamentary environment. You you just couldn’t compare the two. Unbelievable. Now there’s one very important thing uh which people uh probably don’t know much about and that is an act which governs the punishment of people if they are in a a a position of authority.

It’s the criminal justice act 1988 section 134. And what this actually says that if you’re a public official or someone acting in an official capacity and it’s been found that you have either committed taken part in or or had some kind of knowledge of and didn’t say a mission basically of anything that’s got been going on.

And at the end of the day uh you know torture you you could classify this as that exactly then you are in a great deal of trouble and the punishment uh if you are convicted if you have a look down the bottom there is you can go to prison for the rest of your life. imprisonment for life and that is for public officials uh who who are in in that situation in that situation.

Now, a lot of the time you won’t hear of that act being implemented because it’s down to the attorney general under section 135 to actually agree for those proceedings to go ahead and more often than not let it happen. This is where univers universal jurisdiction comes into play where you can take it to another common law jurisdiction and say right we we want to do blah blah blah blah blah take it on.

I know of cases where this has happened where cases have been taken to the United States of America for example to be tried. There are a great deal of people with a great deal of knowledge in their in their heads, you know, that they know that should really start talking, should really start saying, “Well, hang on a minute.

” And there’s a whole plea of people from a whole range of organizations ranging from law enforcement through to the NHS through to counselors to mayors to, dare I say it, politicians. they, you know, they they all know something somewhere and this whole lot can come down. But, you know, let’s see what happens with Robert Low.
