Netanyahu claims regional alliance with Arab states reaching “practical stage”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the ongoing Israeli-American war on Iran has created what he described as a “rare opportunity” to form a regional alliance with Arab states, according to Israeli media reports.

Speaking during a Security Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Netanyahu said that “a rapprochement between Israel and regional states has reached a practical stage,” as reported by the Hebrew newspaper Maariv.

He further claimed that Israel is “forming alliances with Arab states that are talking about fighting alongside us,” adding that previous secret discussions with Arab leaders had focused on warning them about Iran’s regional ambitions.

Since February 28, Tel Aviv and Washington have been carrying out attacks on Iran, resulting in thousands of victims and wounded, as well as the assassination of military and political leaders, most notably Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has launched missiles and drones toward Israeli-controlled areas, while also targeting what it describes as American bases and interests in Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan. Some of these attacks have led to civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, drawing condemnation from Arab countries and calls to halt the escalation.

Netanyahu did not specify which Arab states he was referring to, nor did he clarify the nature or level of these alleged alliances, leaving the extent of such cooperation unclear.
