Two weeks later, they discovered they were expecting a baby girl. But the worry didn’t stop there.
With the diagnosis of Down’s syndrome, and the likelihood that their baby wouldn’t survive the pregnancy, Rebecca and Dave turned to a support network that would become their lifeline.

Violet, their miracle baby, was born prematurely at 34 weeks.
When Rebecca first laid eyes on her daughter, she was immediately smitten, despite the uncertainty surrounding her health.
She was whisked away to the special care unit, needing oxygen to help her breathe. But Violet’s fight was only just beginning.
The road ahead was fraught with challenges. Not only did Violet have Down’s syndrome, but she was also diagnosed with a rare second heart condition, Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), which required surgery to correct.
At just eight months old, Violet underwent a six-hour heart surgery to repair the defects.
The scar on her chest was a constant reminder of her resilience.
Despite the tough start, Violet thrived. By her second birthday, she was walking and showing her infectious smile, capturing hearts everywhere.
Her family remained strong, grateful for the unexpected turns their lives had taken and proud of how far their daughter had come.
