Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been admitted to the hospital and is in critical but stable condition, according to his spokesperson.
“Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” Ted Goodman said in a post on X on Sunday.

Giuliani, 81, earned the nickname “America’s Mayor” for his leadership in New York City following the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. He previously served as a prominent federal prosecutor, tackling organized crime and financial misconduct on Wall Street before being elected mayor in 1993.

Goodman did not disclose the exact reason for the hospitalization, its duration, or the expected recovery timeline. During his Friday evening online show, Giuliani was heard coughing and mentioned that his voice was “a little under the weather.”

President Trump praised Giuliani as a “true warrior” and one of New York’s finest mayors, wishing him a swift recovery.
Giuliani ran for president in 2008 and later served as an advisor during the Trump administration. He has faced various legal challenges in recent years, including a defamation case in 2023, and was disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C. A pardon was issued for certain related matters last year.
Wishing the former mayor a full and speedy recovery.
