The Philadelphia 76ers have to quickly shift focus after their thrilling Game 7 victory over the Boston Celtics. As the No. 7 seed, they now take on the No. 3 seed New York Knicks, with Game 1 set for Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

“They’re a really great team,” VJ Edgecombe said. “They’ve played together for a while, so they have good chemistry. They play hard. We’ve just got to go in there and match their energy and intensity, and may the best team win.”
Here is the full best-of-seven series schedule (start times and broadcasters for Games 5-7 to be determined):

- Game 5: Tuesday, May 12 – Sixers at Knicks

The Sixers and Knicks split their four regular-season matchups, with neither team winning at home. Edgecombe stood out in Philadelphia’s two victories at the Garden.
The teams last met in the playoffs in 2024, when New York took a tight, dramatic six-game series. Embiid dropped 50 points in Game 3 for the Sixers’ first win, while Maxey’s 46-point overtime heroics forced Game 6. New York ultimately advanced.
The 2025-26 Knicks finished the regular season at 53-29. While the surging Sixers bring confidence, they know New York will be a tough test.
“Their starting lineup is incredible,” Sixers head coach Nick Nurse said. “They continue to bolster their bench. They can play in a variety of ways—with one big or two bigs. Jalen Brunson is obviously a big problem. Their rebounding is a big problem. I think they’re a much bigger team in general than what we just saw.”
