Natchez police received an urgent report from a concerned father in California about troubling messages involving his 4-month-old child. The messages, reportedly sent by the baby’s mother, included images and videos that immediately raised serious safety concerns.
Officers quickly launched a search for both the infant and the mother. Investigators found that one image appeared to show the baby lying partially beneath a vehicle, with a foot visible on the child’s stomach. Thankfully, when authorities located the infant, the child was unharmed. Child Protective Services immediately placed the baby into protective custody to ensure continued safety and care.
The 27-year-old mother, April Alexander, was taken into custody later that day. She faces charges of attempted second-degree murder and felony child abuse.
