A series of shootings in the Atlanta suburbs brought unimaginable pain to multiple families, claiming the lives of three individuals in a short span of time.

Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, has been identified as the suspect in these incidents. According to authorities, he is linked to the deaths of Lauren Bullis, Prianna Weathers, and Tony Matthews, with one victim passing away days later in the hospital.
The events unfolded when Lauren Bullis, a 40-year-old auditor with the Department of Homeland Security, was fatally shot while walking her French bulldog, Sancho, in Panthersville, Georgia.
Bullis was remembered fondly by friends and coworkers as a kind, energetic, and adventurous person who loved staying active and caring for her garden. Colleagues described her as a true professional with a warm heart. “She was just the nicest, sweetest, most encouraging person I’ve ever met,” one coworker shared with The Associated Press. Her loss has deeply affected her family, neighbors, and the broader professional community.
Soon after, 31-year-old Prianna Weathers was also killed. Her family, speaking through her mother to media outlets, expressed profound shock and sorrow over the sudden and senseless nature of her passing. They continue to mourn privately as they process this heartbreaking event.
The third victim, Tony Matthews, 48, died from his injuries on April 19. A devoted father to a young daughter, Matthews was known for his helpful spirit and strong family ties. His sister-in-law and brother highlighted his joyful nature and willingness to assist others. He had recently welcomed a new daughter and was working to bring stepchildren from Uganda to join the family.

From Bump to Baby with the McGuire Family
His relatives noted that initial reports mistakenly suggested he was unhoused, but the family clarified he simply lacked identification at the time. They are now fundraising for funeral expenses and drawing strength from cherished memories.
Investigators continue to examine the case, noting the suspect’s past challenges with anger. The shootings appear random, with no clear personal links to the victims, leaving many in the area feeling unsettled.
The motive behind these acts remains unknown, though officials are focused on gathering facts and supporting the affected families. The community has come together to honor the victims—each remembered for their positive impact, kindness, and dedication to loved ones.
As legal proceedings move forward with Abel in custody, the families seek answers and justice while remembering the bright lives cut short. These tragedies serve as a painful reminder of life’s preciousness and the importance of unity in times of loss.
