Strictly Come Dancing’s sharp-tongued judge Craig Revel Horwood is in the middle of a major renovation on his historic £2 million, seven-bedroom mansion, but for now he’s making do with far more modest accommodations.

Away from the sparkle of the ballroom, the longtime panelist known for his candid critiques is overseeing extensive work on the 1867 property in King’s Cliffe, Northamptonshire, which he shares with partner Jonathan Myring. The couple purchased the home in 2021 and kicked off the revamp soon after moving in.
Six months back, they were deep in the demolition phase with plans to wrap things up by August this year. During an earlier interview, Craig described the site as having “no outdoor walls at all,” with just a roof and second floor supported by poles. He joked that he was staying in a small “one-up, two-down” annex that felt basically the size of a caravan.

The judge has now opened up about his current setup. According to reports, his temporary living quarters while the project continues remain quite simple compared to the main house.
Craig told a reporter: “I am living in a caravan at the moment. It’s cheaper than storage.”

In a previous chat with Country and Town House magazine, he shared that it took a full year to create the renovation plan and another to get planning permission approved. “It’s in the demolition stage and then the first bit will begin in a month,” he said at the time. “I think we’re looking at August next year, which is alarming. I’m just glad something’s happening.”
Last September, Craig gave fans a peek at the ongoing work through social media posts showing the stripped-out interior and piles of rubble. Fellow Strictly star Neil Jones even chimed in asking if his future room would include a bathtub.
The project follows earlier updates Craig shared about the kitchen transformation. On Instagram, he posted: “After what feels like a lifetime, the renovations are finally underway. Fingers crossed our full house renovation is finished in a fortnight but it might take a smidge longer!”
Craig continues to stay active with Strictly Come Dancing duties amid the home improvements.
