The Insubordination: At least one supervisory special agent was suspended for insubordination after refusing to carry out the tactical arrest, calling it “inappropriate and highly unusual” for a white-collar defendant who had already agreed to appear voluntarily.
Blanche’s Dismissal: Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche dismissed the rumors of a theatrical arrest as “just noise,” emphasizing that the DOJ expects defendants to follow standard protocol and appear as directed.
