Despite the successes of Operation Epic Fury, Iran could potentially achieve something that no nation-state adversary of the United States has managed since the War of 1812: launching a direct attack on American citizens within the mainland. A recent report brings to light the troubling possibility of Iranian sleeper cells currently in the United States, seemingly lying in wait for the command to strike.
American counterterrorism agencies, including the FBI, are said to be closely monitoring these potential Iranian-sponsored sleeper cells.
American counterterrorism agencies are quietly monitoring suspected sleeper cells on U.S. soil in the wake of joint U.S.–Israel strikes on Iran, stepping up surveillance amid heightened fears of possible retaliation from Iran-linked operatives or sympathizers.
Federal and local law enforcement have also boosted on-the-ground security in major U.S. cities as part of a precautionary posture, even though no specific, credible threats have been publicly identified.
The move comes on the heels of a Saturday morning operation, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials in a coordinated U.S.–Israeli military campaign.
While taking out the members of one of the most brutal and murderous regimes in modern history is still a worthy cause, the prospect of having sleeper cells right here in our own country is far from a new issue:
“If ever there’s going to be a Hezbollah cell or a Hamas cell act in the United States in a violent way, it’s now,” Chris Swecker, a former assistant FBI director, told Fox News.
“Both organizations are Iranian-backed all the way. Both organizations have had a presence in the United States since the 1980s,” he added.
Swecker said U.S. authorities have long been aware of domestic networks and sympathizers.
“We know that they have cells here. We also know that there are lone sympathizers, many of whom have come out in these
protest groups,” he added.
In fact, we may well have seen just one such lone sympathizer in Austin, Texas, on Sunday.
As horrifying as it may be, the recent incident involving a goblin—who has, thankfully, met their end thanks to the swift actions of the Austin police—highlights a troubling reality. It is likely that this will not be the last occurrence of its kind. As I’ve been emphasizing for years, many of these groups may not be composed of gullible, low-IQ individuals but instead consist of trained professionals.
This raises an important question: If we are aware that Iran-backed terror cells are operating within our borders, why haven’t we taken action to dismantle them? Are we simply waiting for them to take the next step?
Here’s the issue, and this is 1000 percent Joe Biden’s fault (and those left-wing anti-American losers who were running his show – and the Democrats who cheered it on):
He also warned that border security vulnerabilities may have compounded the risk.
“We just come off four years of open borders, and I have said before that that was an open door for terrorists to terrorist cells and terror sympathizers to infiltrate. Many were already here, but it’s impossible that they would not infiltrate into these particular groups and sort of act as catalysts, as enablers.”
Against that backdrop, the FBI is moving to reinforce its domestic security posture.
FBI Director Kash Patel said Saturday that counterterrorism and intelligence teams are now on high alert amid ongoing U.S. actions involving Iran.
It’s important to recognize this statement: We have just emerged from four years of open borders. If there are any terror cells operating here, or if any Americans suffer injuries or, heaven forbid, lose their lives because of these threats, the responsibility falls squarely on the Biden administration and the Democrats as a whole. They continually advocate for open borders, defunding our immigration agencies, and allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to enter without scrutiny or conditions.
This is one of the critical issues facing our nation today, and the current situation in Iran is highlighting just how misguided and reckless the Democrats are regarding this matter. Keep this in mind when you vote in the midterms.
Donald Trump was elected with a clear mandate: end illegal immigration after four years of border collapse under Joe Biden, whose administration allowed millions of illegal immigrants to pour into the country, strain social services, and fuel violent crime against Americans.
That era is over.
Today marks a complete break from Biden-era failure. Under Trump’s leadership, the United States has now gone nine consecutive months with zero releases at the border. No catch-and-release. No wink-and-nod enforcement. No pretending chaos is compassion.
Today in Nogales, Arizona, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that one year into the Trump administration, DHS and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are continuing to set new records for border security. Preliminary January data shows both CBP overall encounters and U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions remain at historic lows, with January marking the fourth consecutive month of declining border crossings.
“In President Trump’s first year back in office, we have delivered the most secure border in American history – and we did so in the immediate aftermath of the worst border crisis in history,” said Secretary Noem. “President Trump’s leadership and bold action have given this country a secure border that keeps breaking historic records. January 2026 marked the fourth consecutive month of decline in the number of Border Patrol apprehensions at the southwest border, with just over 6,000, and the ninth month in a row that Border Patrol has released ZERO illegal aliens into the interior of the country.”
“Our agents and officers are delivering unprecedented results, with border crossings and apprehensions at levels not seen in CBP history,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney S. Scott. “The men and women of CBP are demonstrating the impact of effective enforcement and unwavering commitment, ensuring the safety and security of our nation’s borders every single day.”
According to DHS, last month recorded the lowest number of encounters in January, totaling just 34,631 nationwide. This marks an impressive 87 percent drop compared to the previous administration, which averaged 230,849 encounters monthly from February 2021 to December 2024.
In addition, total encounters with Border Patrol have decreased by 12 percent since October 2024, bringing the year-to-date total to 126,234.

There have been “historic” declines in apprehensions at the Southwest border as well. In January, there were 6,073 apprehensions, which is 93 percent lower than the monthly average for the fiscal years 1992 to 2024. The majority of those apprehended were single adults, with 71 percent being individuals from Mexico.
The Department of Homeland Security also reported record drug seizures in January, underscoring just how dramatically enforcement has changed. Agents intercepted 816 pounds of fentanyl, 12,241 pounds of methamphetamine, 5,386 pounds of cocaine, and 17,639 pounds of marijuana — staggering totals by any measure.
And here’s the part that blows up the Left’s favorite talking point: no new legislation was required.
We didn’t need another “comprehensive reform” bill. We didn’t need more excuses, studies, or hearings. We needed a president willing to enforce the laws already on the books. That’s it.
So, no wonder Democrats and their left-wing financiers are ginning up violence and protests. No wonder Dems refuse to support ICE. They see their power dwindling fast under Trump, one illegal alien at a time.
